Free Printable Christmas Cards From Santa

In the year 1843, Henry Cole, the first man to sell Christmas cards in London, sold them for one shilling. He used the money from these sales to establish a public record bureau. The Post Office was born. It allows people to send and get cards without worrying about how they will reply. It may seem like a small gesture, but sending a Christmas gift card can be just the same as sending one.

There are several different types of cards that can be sent. The United States’ first Christmas card was printed in 1840 by a German printer. They were very costly and many people couldn’t afford them. Louis Prang, an American lithographer from Boston, created the first ever commercial Christmas card in the United Kingdom. This allowed for a more realistic representation of the holiday and allowed for five million cards to be produced in one year.
