In the year 1843, Henry Cole, the first man to sell Christmas cards in London, sold them for one shilling. He used the money he had made from these sales in order to set up a public information office. The Post Office has grown to be a business that allows people sending and receiving cards without having to think about how to reply. It may seem like a small gesture, but sending a Christmas gift card can be just the same as sending one.

There are many types of cards you can send. The United States’ first Christmas card was printed in 1840 by a German printer. They were very costly and many people couldn’t afford them. In the United Kingdom, the first commercial Christmas card was made in 1915 by a Boston lithographer named Louis Prang. This allowed for a very realistic holiday image and allowed for five millions cards to be made in one year.
