Henry Cole was the first man to sell Christmas card in London in 1843. He sold them for one shilling. He used the money he earned from these sales to set up a public record office. As a result, the Post Office has evolved into a business that allows people to send and receive cards without having to worry about how to reply. It’s a small gesture but sending a Christmas greeting card can be as important as sending one.
There are several different types of cards that can be sent. In the late 1840s, a German printer produced the first Christmas cards in America. They were extremely expensive and could not be afforded by most people. In the United Kingdom, the first commercial Christmas card was made in 1915 by a Boston lithographer named Louis Prang. This allowed for a very realistic holiday image and allowed for five millions cards to be made in one year.
